Bahamas Cruises aboard Disney Cruise Lines!

Disney Bahamas CruisesDisney Cruise lines is currently offering itineraries ranging from 3, 4, 5 and 8 night cruises that will take you and your family away to the heart of the tropical islands of The Bahamas.  You can chose to begin your magical journey from one of two ports, New York City or Port Canaveral just outside Disney World Resort.

  • 3-Night Cruises:  Sail from Port Canaveral, Florida on the Disney Dream Thursday afternoon returning on Sunday morning with stops at the ports of Nassau and Disney's own private resort of Castaway Cay.
  • 4-Night Cruises:  This cruise itinerary also departs from Port Canaveral with cruises aboard the Disney Dream and Magic with the same ports of call as the 3-night cruises with the addition of one fun, relaxing day at sea.
  • 5-Night Cruises:  Sail on either the Disney Magic or Dream from Florida's Port Canaveral and enjoy visiting Disney's private paradise island both on your way to beautiful Bahamas and on the return to Port Canaveral (yes- twice the fun!).  One magical day at sea is also provided.
  • 8-Night Cruises:  Sail past the Statue of Liberty as you depart from New York City on an amazing cruise to the Bahamas beginning with two magical days at sea and then stops at Port Canaveral, Castaway Cay, Nassau and back to the exciting life found in the "The Big Apple", New York.

Just a Few Ideas for Things to do and see while at port:  The stunning port city of Nassau in the Bahamas provides many opportunities for cruisers. There are a wide variety of shore excursions to choose from; including water sports, sightseeing, beachcombing, gambling or shopping. Don't feel that you have to pre-book your excursions online or onboard ship for each port. This is your vacation and you should always feel free to wander about, take in the local atmosphere, and explore this island paradise on your own.

  • One of the most popular shore excursions in Nassau, the island's capital, hands down is a visit to the lost city of Atlantis, or its recreation anyway, in a tour called Atlantis Beach Day. This tour includes the opportunity to view over 100,000 fish at the Discover Atlantis aquarium. Wear comfortable shoes as the tour involves lots of walking. Wrap up your tour by spending a relaxing afternoon along the white, sandy beaches soaking up the sun in the breathtakingly beautiful Bahamas!
  • Colorful native birds, flamingos and parrots, are among the collection of Bahamian land animals that await you when you embark on a tour of the tropical Ardastra Gardens. Enjoy hand feeding tame parrots and watching the world famous marching flamingos. Get back on the bus for a narrated tour of the city of Nassau that includes stops at Fort Fincastle, Water Tower and the Queen's Staircase.
  • How about a shore excursion that provides a look into the history of the local area. The Caribbean Queen Snorkel Tour starts with a narrated historical tour that goes on to complete your fun filled day with an adventurous one-hour snorkeling experience off the scenic island of Athol. The boat is equipped with freshwater showers, which is a big plus after snorkeling through the reef. Plan on 2-3 hours for this excursion.
  • What could be cooler than interacting with friendly dolphins at Nassau's Dolphin Encounter? Start with a 30-minute orientation and then spend time in the sea getting close to and even petting the dolphins. Items available for purchase at the dolphin lagoon include lunch, professional photos and videos of your dolphin experience. The trip to the lagoon takes an hour each way and there will be about 20 minutes of walking required. Plan on about 4-1/2 hours for this excursion.

From sunny Port Canaveral, enter the gateway to Walt Disney World Resort.  In Disney's Castaway Cay, look forward to some of the world's best swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing in an imaginative setting created especially for Disney cruise passengers.  Enjoy the beauty of Nassau as you explore the wealth of warm, sunny beaches, diverse and duty-free boutiques/shops and the historical architecture that remains as a relic of the island's colonial past.  Let Disney Cruise Lines take you away from the stress of life as you delve into the wonders of the tropical islands in The Bahamas.

Disney cruises out of New York City are available now.
